The 16th International Conference of the Iranian Operations Research Society was held at Rahman Institute of Higher Education on November 15 to 17, 2023.
The extraordinary attendance of prominent professors and researchers was remarkable.
The conference’s opening ceremony was held on November 15; after the reception of the researchers and other participants registered for the conference, prominent speakers, professors, and guests entered the International Conference and Exhibition Hall of Ramsar’s Green City. Next, the keynote speakers delivered their lectures.
In the opening ceremony, first, the chairman of the conference, Prof. Amir Mahdavi Zafarghandi, the Chancellor of Rahman Institute of Higher Education welcomed the guests and gave his speech. Others who delivered their speech were the chairman of the scientific committee, Prof. Reza Tavakoli Moghadam, Tehran University’s faculty member, Dr. Seyed Hadi Naseri, the faculty member of Mazandaran University and the chair of the conference, and Dr. Seyed Abbas Ebrahimi, the executive committee chairman and the faculty member of Rahman Institute of Higher Education.
Moreover, Dr. Mir Saman Pishvaee, the head of the National Iranian Productivity Organization, delivered a speech on the relationship between Industrial engineering science and operations research and their use.
214 research papers were accepted at this conference; 98 were presented orally in different panels and others were presented as posters and on the booklet of the conference.
Other points worth mentioning are the five educational workshops and five keynote speeches delivered by prominent national and international professors.
In the opening and closing ceremonies, top scientific figures regarding the best research article, a top research project, a top book, a top journal, and influential scientific figures were honored.
It is hoped that holding such conferences plays a role in developing knowledge and becomes a starting point for scientific development on the national and international scene.
